American College Test
(ACT)
The ACT is used for admission and placement within colleges and
universities.

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
CLEP exams are used to give credit for knowledge gained through life
experience. CLEP exams provide a method for "testing out" of a
particular course.

Compass Placement Test (Maths, English, Reading)
The Compass Self-Assessment enables you to determine which University of
New Mexico course is appropriate for your skill level.

General Education Development Exam (GED)
The GED is an examination developed for measuring high school
equivalency.

Graduate Record Exam (GRE)
The GRE is used for admission to graduate school.

Law School Admission Test (LSAT)
The LSAT is used for admission to Law School.

Miller Analogy Test (MAT)
The MAT is used for admission to certain graduate schools, check with
your prospective graduate school.

Medical College Admission Test (MCAT)
The MCAT is used for admission to medical school.

PRAXIS/NTE
The exams are specifically developed for teacher licensure or for
prospective teachers.
