Scoring and Re-Testing

How do I see my scores?

Your scores will be available in ALEKS PPL immediately. Proctored placement exams are uploaded to the UNM system within two hours of completion. You can view these scores by logging into LoboWeb, click Registration & Records, click View Test Scores.

What does my score mean?

You can view what courses your score corresponds to on our Course Placement page. Your score may place you in several courses or in a higher-level course than your degree requires. Your academic advisor can provide you with further information about what your placement means for your math journey here at UNM and give you recommendations on next steps.

Can I use my practice test score for placement?

No, only proctored exams can be used for placement.

I’m unhappy with my score. Can I take the test again?

Yes. You may take a maximum of two proctored ALEKS PPL exams. Follow these steps to complete a second proctored placement:

  1. After your first test, you must complete a minimum of five (5) hours of learning modules before you can take your next assessment.
  2. You must complete one unproctored (practice) assessment before your final proctored exam. Treat this practice assessments like a proctored exam: no external calculators, no notes, and no looking up information/formulas. Keep working on learning modules if your practice test is not what you are hoping to achieve with your proctored exam.
  3. When you are ready to complete your final proctored exam (assessment #3), contact testctr@unm.edu to request the password for remote proctoring through Respondus Monitoring or arrange a time to come in for an in-person test.
Note: Only one proctored exam per day will be uploaded to LoboWeb. You students should not take both proctored assessments the same day. This will assure that both scores are available in the system.

See below for the full path to complete a second official placement.
