Pre-Test
Why do I have to take a practice assessment?
The practice assessment serves two purposes. First, it gives you an opportunity to get familiar with the software platform before you take your official proctored exam. Second, it gives you an idea of where you will place so you have an opportunity to complete learning modules before your official proctored exam if you are hoping to place into a higher-level course.
Can I just use my practice assessment score for placement?
Practice assessments cannot be used for placement. Only official proctored exams will be used for placement.
Do I have to complete the learning modules?
The learning modules are optional, but recommended if you did not place as high as you would like on your practice assessment. The learning modules are an opportunity to practice skills that you may be rusty on to give yourself the chance to do your best on the proctored exam. If you choose to take a second proctored exam, you should complete learning modules before each practice or proctored test. Details are available on the "Scoring and Retesting" page.
